Ellis Memorial, Boston’s first settlement house, has been caring for children, disabled adults, and families who live and work in the South End and adjacent neighborhoods since 1885. We offer high quality educational, social, and health support services to individuals and families in need within a safe,nurturing, diverse environment.
Ellis Memorial & Eldredge House is a non-profit social service agency with a rich and varied history. We have been providing programs and services for children and adults of Boston for 120 years. Established as a settlement house in 1885, Ellis Memorial continues to offer innovative educational and social programs that support the diverse and underserved needs of working parents and families.
Ellis Memorial offers early education and childcare programs for children two months to thirteen years, and an adult day program for frail, elderly, and disabled adults. The children's programs feature curricula and programming that is age appropriate to the individual child, encourages the development of socialization skills, and provides recreational and educational activities. All children’s programs are licensed by the state Office for Child Care Services and the PSK Program is accredited by NAEYC. In support of working parents, our programs operate Monday-Friday, year round, with the exception of legal holidays. The Infant/Toddler and PSK programs are open 7:30 am – 5:30 pm and the After School Programs are open 2-6 pm, 8am-6pm during school vacations/summer.
49th ELLIS ANTIQUES SHOW
October 31 - November 2, 2008 This year marks the 49th Ellis Antiques Show. The show features 35 of the nation's leading dealers and galleries. The Ellis Antiques Show will be held in The Castle at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers. 158 Columbus Avenue at Arlington Street.

BOOK SIGNING Friday, October 31 Book signing by Judith Miller 12:00 pm — 2:00 pm Judith Miller began collecting in the 1960’s while a student at Edinburgh University in Scotland. Fascinated by the inexpensive plates she bought in the city’s junk stores, she began to research their history in books and auction catalogs and at local antique fairs. She has since extended and reinforced her knowledge of antiques through international research, becoming one of the world’s leading experts in the field. Her expertise includes historic interiors. Judith is a regular lecturer and contributor to numerous newspapers and magazines. In 1979 Judith co-founded the international best-seller Miller’s Antiques Price Guide and has since written more than 100 books, which are held in high regard by collectors and dealers. She will be signing Miller's Collectibles Price Guide 2009 and Miller's Antiques Price Guide 2009.
BRUNCH & LECTURE Sunday, November 2 Brunch 11:00 am Lecture noon, Taj Boston, 15 Arlington St Bunny Williams, world renowned interior designer and garden expert, and her husband John Rosselli, antiques dealer, reminisce and provide a“how-to manual” in their lecture “Point of View”, showcasing three decades of decorating elegant and comfortable houses. They are co-owners of the acclaimed Treillage Ltd.,a home and garden decor shop in New York City. Reservations essential.
GUIDED TOURS Museum trained guides will conduct tours and discussions with exhibitors about highlighted pieces before show hours. Friday, October 31 Saturday, November 1 10:00 am $20 per person Includes continental breakfast, Show tour and catalogue and Show admission. Reservations requested.
